Akwa Ibom State Police Command has arrested a fake Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), identified as Vincent Sampson Enuneku and recovered Indian hemp as well as a cloned police Identity card from him.

Spokesperson for the Command, Odiko Mcdon,  in a statement, yesterday, said the suspect was arrested on June 28, while attempting to use his fake ASP identity card to prevent arrest of a notorious wanted criminal.

He said: “Personnel of Anti-cultism Squad of the Command arrested one Vincent Sampson Enuneku, 43, from Ndokwa Local Council of Delta State for impersonation and being in possession of large substance, suspected to be Indian hemp.

“The suspect was arrested on June 28 in Uyo,  while attempting to use his fake ASP ID card to prevent the arrest of a wanted criminal.

“Exhibits recovered from the suspect include: fake Police ID Card and a large quantity of Indian hemp.”

According to Mcdon, the suspect also used the police fake Identity card to extort and harass innocent members of the public, thereby bringing the image of the Force to disrepute.

He said the State Commissioner of Police (CP), Olatoye Durosinmi, has warned impersonators of security agencies to stop as they will be contended by superior powers in the state.
