The immediate past Nigerian Ambassador to Togo, Debo Adesina, has said that the legacy left by his mother, the late Deaconess Esther Taiwo Adesina, would continue to inspire others one year after her departure.
In a statement yesterday, Adesina, a former Editor-in-Chief and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of The Guardian, said he continues to reflect on the life led by his mother, which impacted her community and her children.
In his tribute, Adesina said he keeps thinking of his mother’s enduring influence on his life, describing her as a pillar of strength, discipline, and moral guidance.
The former envoy, while expressing deep gratitude for the values her mother instilled in him—values that have shaped his career in journalism and public service, also emphasised the emotional weight of the anniversary, noting that “although a year has passed, her memory remains vivid and her legacy continues to inspire him daily.”
