…As He Commissions Traffic Lights In Lagos
The Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, has enjoined all motorists in the state to obey traffic lights for smooth flow of traffic on the major roads. The governor stated this on Friday, while commissioning traffic lights at Akinbolagbe Street/Ligali Ayorinde Road and Chief Yesufu Abiodun Oniru Road junction on Victoria Island, which were donated by the Redeemed Christian Church of God, City of David Region 20, Lagos Province 4, Zone 8 Area 004, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Speaking through his Special Adviser on Transportation, Prince Olanrewaju Elegushi, Ambode commended the pastorate and members of the Parish for supporting the state government’s policies and programmes, especially the donation of the traffic lights.

Responding, Pastor Idowu Iluyomade, Senior Pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, City of David Region 20, Lagos Province 4, Zone 8 Area 004, Victoria Island, Lagos, said:

“The decision to donate the traffic lights was borne out of the desire to ensure easy flow of traffic, we noticed that the Oba Yesufu Oniru/COD Church Road became an alternative route for many vehicles that want to by-pass the toll plaza, after commissioning the Lekki Freeway a few years ago. This brought a significantly high vehicular traffic into the estate and regular gridlocks on the road.”
