Anambra NYCN targets 1,000 youths for ICT training, empowerment drive

Anambra State chapter of the National Youths Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has begun drive to ensure that no fewer than 1,000 youths across the state benefit from its current training and empowerment programme on Information and communication technology (ICT).

The NYCN Chairman in the State, Emeka Obi, who disclosed this to newsmen at The Youth House in Awka, yesterday, said the delivery would consolidate the partnership between NYCN and the Ministry of Youth Development.

Obi disclosed that the collaboration would go a long way in engendering the actualisation of Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s mission to create one million jobs for the youths per year.

He pointed out the skill acquisition and empowerment programmes is part of ‘Youth Solution’ the Soludo administration is championing to ensure job generation, wealth creation, poverty alleviation and improved livelihood for youths.

Obi pointed out that this informed the donation of 20 sets of desktop computers to the council by the ministry recently, stressing that the donation has assisted the council to reach, train and empower youths at the grassroots level since over the last two weeks.
