The Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Anambra State, Elizabeth Agwu, has described media practitioners in the state as dependable partners to the Commission throughout the election period.

Agwu, who spoke to journalists in Awka, commended the media for the good job they were doing while covering activities of the Commission, especially before and during the presidential and National Assembly, as well as the governorship and state Assembly elections in the state.

She said media practitioners proved they were not in the state to push out negative information for public consumption, but gave reliable reports, adding that it’s INEC’s duty to give out information on daily activities.

She said: “On our part, we give them the needed information, which they have been giving out to the public. Most of them have proved their worth and reliability. I thank the Anambra media for cooperating with INEC.”
