Uche Okeke and Aniakor, in the early 70s, immediately after the Nigerian civil war, pioneered birth of the Nsukka School of Art.

Nourished and empowered by this art idiom, he had taught and practised art and exhibited nationally and internationally within the past four decades.

He held his first professional art exhibition at the National Museum of Art, Lagos in 1972. He has painted and exhibited widely both in Nigeria, Britain, Germany and other European countries.

His works are in the collections of Didi Museum, Iwalewa House in Germany, National Museum of African Art, Smithsonian Institution, Washington D.C, National Gallery of Art, Lagos and several museums and art galleries across Europe and America.

He also studied at Ahmadu Bello University and later at Indiana University from where he obtained a doctoral degree in Art History.

Over the years, Aniakor has written and published profusely in international journals, including the Encyclopedia and American Society of International Law.

His drawings and paintings have appeared in several journals such as Okike, journal of new African writing, Greenfield Review, Ufahamu, Black Literary Forum, African arts, Research in African Literature among others.

He has received various research fellowships over the years. He is currently teaching at the University of Cross River State, Calabar.

The art exhibition of the Top 100 Nigerian Artists in the 15th LIMCAF 2022 Festival, which opened on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at the International Conference Centre, Institute of Management and Technology, Enugu, ends with an awards night on Saturday, October 29, 2022.
