The Forum of All Progressives Congress states chairmen rose from an emergency meeting in Abuja on Thursday applauding the performance of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr. Nyesom Wike.

The Forum comprising chairmen of 36 states chapter of the party and that of the FCT also threw their weight behind the performances of their colleague from Rivers state, Tony Okocha, and the Ganduje-led national working committee (NWC).

Led by Mr. Cornelius Ojelabi, the forum adduced the massive infrastructural development of the FCT, security measures, and human capital development as reasons for the decision to applaud Wike.

“The Forum will continue to appreciate everyone that is contributing towards the growth of the party and the success of the administration of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the group noted at the press conference addressed by Dr. Alphonsus Ogar, the Chairman of the Cross River chapter of the party.

The forum contended that the activities of Okocha led executives in the past seven months have not only made Rivers State APC Chapter one of the most active, resilient, and vibrant Chapters but have given a new lease of life to the doldrums, docility, and chicanery that once pervaded the political landscape of APC in Rivers State before the 2023 general election.

The Forum while commending the Ganduje-led NWC for wading into the crisis that rocked the Rivers state chapter of the party, singled out the role played by Wike in ensuring the victory of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2023 presidential poll as basis for their position.

They noted: “Their sincere, honest and conscientious belief in the principle of fair play and power rotation between the North and South which motivated them to give their full moral, financial and total support to the candidacy of our amiable President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR which did not only actualise the victory of our President but stood Rivers State out as the only State in the entire South-South Region of the country where our party won the 2023 Presidential Election.”
