Former Secretary to Edo State Government and All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial aspirant, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, yesterday, reached out to Nigerians in his drive to create awareness and curb the spread of coronavirus.

Ize-Iyamu also made public two emergency phones lines for individuals, who are in dire need of food and water to call so he could reach out to them by providing food for poorest of the poor families in the state.

Speaking while releasing a lorry load of the foodstuffs, which was headed for the 64 wards in the 6 Local Councils that make up Edo North, with others being loaded for Edo Central and Edo South senatorial districts, said the idea is to help the poor families.

He said that with the lockdown and restriction of movement of persons across the state, people are bound to be hungry, hence the need to support them with food so that they can feed and stay alive healthy.

“Let me say clearly that we are doing this not for politics; we are doing it because there’s a compelling need at this time to do it.”

“Our target is 1000 families and our plan is that every part of the state, in every ward, we should be able to touch a certain number of families,” Ize-Iyamu said.

Pastor Ize-Iyamu had earlier distributed hand sanitizers and Coronavirus awareness leaflets across the state.
