Nasarawa State Independent Electoral Commission (NASIEC) has declared the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates winners of all the 13 chairmanship and 147 councillorship seats in the state’s local council elections.

The Chairman of NASIEC, Ayuba Wandei, while declaring the result at the NASIEC office in Lafia, yesterday, said the election was credible.

“From the collated results from across all the 13 local government areas, the APC candidates from Akwanga, Awe, Doma, Karu, Keana, Keffi, Kokona, Lafia, Nasarawa, Nasarawa Eggon, Obi, Toto and Wamba are returned. For the councillorship of the 147 electoral wards, the APC is hereby returned,” he said.

Ayuba, however, noted the delay in the distribution of election materials in some parts of the state, which could be traced to logistics problems.

Governor Abdullahi Sule had earlier apologised for the delay in the distribution of election materials, which resulted in the delay in voting in virtually all the polling centres across the state.
