The All Progressives Congress has refuted claims that the party National Chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomole was involved in the bloackade of the National assembly by the Department of State Security (DSS) operatives on Tuesday.

The party said that the allegations were mischievous, false and baseless while stating it was merely observing the developments at the National assembly.

“Our attention has been drawn to mischievous attempts in some partisan quarters to link developments @nassnigeria @NGRSenate @HouseNGR to the National Chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole,” APC’s spokesman Yekini Nabena said.

“While the Party is monitoring the developments @nassnigeria like every concerned Nigerian stakeholder, there is absolutely no basis for the false allegations and attempt to blame the National Chairman for the development there.

Masked men of the DSS Tuesday morning prevented lawmakers from entering the National assembly complex claiming they were following ‘orders from above’.

Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of APC, Timi Frank said on Tuesday morning that Oshiomhole, Director General of DSS, Lawan Daura and 30 APC Senators were scheming to impeach Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki.

Oshiomole’s spokesperson Simon Egbegbulem in a telephone interview with PREMIUM TIMES said the APC National chairman was unaware of the happenings at the National Assembly.

“The Chairman is not even aware of what is happening at the National Assembly,” he noted. “He travelled yesterday and came back and not quite long he got back to the office”

“He has not been briefed by anybody,” Egbegbulem said.
