Government and people of Plateau State have described the unexpected and sudden death of Senator Ignatius Longjan as painful and unfortunate, adding that they will miss him greatly.
Plateau State Governor Simon Bako Lalong, in a statement by his Director of Press & Public Affairs, Dr. Makut Simon Macham, described as devastating the death of the senator who represented Plateau South Senatorial District at the National Assembly.
Lalong said the death of the elder statesman was a huge loss to not only his family, but also the people of Plateau South Senatorial District.
Also, former Governor Jonah Jang, through his Media Consultant, Mr. Clinton Garba, described Longjan as a good man, a friend who was not just a friend, but also a political soul mate.
While the state Secretary of the APC, Alhaji Bashir Musa Sati, said Longjan’s death was an unfortunate situation, former governor of the state, Sir Fidelis Tapgun, described Longjan’s death as a very big loss to not only Plateau but also the country at large.
In the same vein, the ruling APC in statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Lanre Issa-Onilu, described the late senator as a grassroots politician and progressive lawmaker.
Also, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Ahmed Idris Wase, in a condolence message, described the senator’s demise as shocking and a great loss to the people of Plateau State and Nigeria in general.
