Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, has declared that the national leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its candidate in the November 6 Governorship election in Anambra State, Andy Ubah, will decide whether or not to challenge the declaration of Prof. Charles Soludo as winner of the poll.

Uzodimma, who served as Chairman of APC Campaign Council in the election, stated this yesterday after meeting President Muhammadu Buhari at the presidential villa, Abuja, saying notwithstanding that the President had congratulated Soludo, that would not have a bearing on the decision.

He pointed out that President Buhari only congratulated the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate, as the father of the nation and because the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), already declared him the winner of the election.

He also dismissed insinuations that the APC might not be voted back to power because of the prevailing economic and security situation in the country, adding that many people were joining the party and that Nigerians were happy that President Buhari was piloting the affairs of the country well.

“The mood of the country is that the President is doing well and that given the peculiarly of the times when insecurity has taken over the world and where COVID-19 has ravaged all countries, ballooning from one variant to another, yet the APC under Buhari, was able to rally the country out of recession,” he said.
