.As PDP fires back, charges APC not to be bad loser
The All Progressives Congress (APC), Nasarawa State chapter, has challenged the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to stop heating the polity with inflaming propaganda capable of inciting citizens and fanning the emba of ethnicity and religion.
The state APC chairman, Aliyu Bello, stated this at a press conference in Lafia the state capital.
The APC in the state challeneged the opposition PDP to stop misleading the public with mischievous propaganda.
“It is pertinent to note that since the split judgment of the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, several issues have emerged especially from the opposition People’s Democratic Party, PDP”, he said.
He further said that the PDP seems to be agitated and ruffled with anything that comes from Governor Abdullahi Sule’s administration no matter how good and beneficial it appears.
“It is imperative therefore to put things in their correct perspective to save the public from being misled to believing their lies and falsehood”, APC Chairman noted.
Aliyu Bello expressed disappointment over the press conference by the PDP Muslim forum condemning governor Abdullahi Sule’s statement on the split judgement that favored the PDP in the recent election tribunal judgement in the state.
Reacting, the PDP challenged APC not to be a bad loser but take the part of honour and quite the seat of power, and not to conterminate the minds of citizens with religious and ethnic sentiment.
The campaign director to David Ombugadu, Dr. Mike Omeri, made this known while reacting to the recent APC press conference held in Lafia on Wednesday, alleging that PDP was despirate and propagating schism in the state.
“Sule at several fora had claimed that late Akwai Doma was his mentor. If indeed Akwei Doma was his mentor, why is he not trading the part Doma traded as an incumbent governor when he was defeated by Tanko Almakura in 2011 under the CPC?
“Aliyu Akwei Doma who was in PDP the ruling Party at the federal and state then was mature and handled his defeat discretely.
“Sule in his statement alleged that the PDP in the state is a Christian affairs, now the APC chairman is expressing sadness over press conference by forum of PDP Muslims who challenged governor Sule to be a good loser by accepting his defeat and not to create any religious coloration to it.
The PDP however appealed to the ruling APC in the state to accept their defeat in good faith and not to pull the heavens down because the people of Nasarawa chose to vote David Ombugadu this time.
