Candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Osaro Onaiwu, yesterday said his major task would be the revival of dead industries in the state in order to create jobs.

Osaro ‎made the pledge while addressing tyres traders at James Watt area of Benin City, the state capital.

He told the traders that if voted to power, he would resuscitate
What he described as the “bedeviled state transport company, Edo Line as well as Bendel Breweries, to create jobs for the people.

This, he said, he would achieve through a private-public partnership thereby attracting investors to the state.

The APGA candidate, popularly called “Solution”‎ added that he would provide the traders with an ambulance and a fire service vehicle to ease the hazards associated with their business, which is susceptibility to fire outbreak.

He‎ said his set objective is to ensure that every citizen of Edo State has a sense of belonging and a satisfying means of livelihood.

‎According to him, his goals and vision is in line with the seven pillars on which the APGA revolves.

Osaro said he wants to restart the transport company because the state government under Governor Adams Oshiomhole, has proved to be incompetent in running it.

It would be recalled that sometime last year, the state government handed over the transport company to an individual transport magnate, Bob Izua, to run and make returns to the government.

He said: “Unfortunately not much development has been achieved in that regard.”
