The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), may boycott the coming local council election in Nasarawa State over alleged plots by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to rig the polls.

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), may boycott the coming local council election in Nasarawa State over alleged plots by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to rig the polls.

APGA state and local council chairmen disclosed the consensus in a communiqué issued by the Public Relation Officer (PRO), Ezekiel Ayuba, in Lafia yesterday.

Being the strongest opposition party in the state, APGA alleged that the impromptu schedule of the election by the Nasarawa State Independent Electoral Commission (NASIEC) was only to favour the ruling party.

The communiqué also raised the issue of high cost of nomination form like other political parties, accusing NASIEC of insensitivity to the economic hardship citizens, including prospective candidates, face, noting that the intention was to favour the ruling party because APC would use tax-payers money to purchase the nomination form.
