Appeal Court hears extra-judicial killing suit against police
Today, the Appeal Court sitting in Lagos State will hear the appeal against the 2015 ruling by Justice Oyindamola Ogala of the High Court against the police for alleged extra-judicial killing.
The court fixed the date after listening to the submission of counsel to the parties who said they had regularised their prayers and filed the necessary application.
The High Court had dismissed the rights claim of Anthony Ezenwafor, Chukwuemeka Ezeofor, Izuchukwu Ezeama and Aloysius Osigwe, four Ladipo boys who were allegedly killed by the police on July 1, 2001 at their residence in Surulere, Lagos.
Ogala had struck out the fundamental rights application filed against the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and Attorney General of Lagos State.
