The Archbishop of Dominion Chapel International Churches, Archbishop John Praise Daniel, yesterday, called for a peaceful resolution to the dispute between Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, Senator representing Kogi Central.

The Archbishop urged both leaders to settle their differences, cautioning that their public feud could derail national unity and progress. Archbishop Praise disclosed this in Abuja during a conference on promoting male champions for gender justice, organised by the All Africa Conference of Churches, in partnership with the Ecumenism For Development & Peace Initiative (EDAPI).

He explained that the conference was convened to advocate for gender justice and to mobilise men as ambassadors against gender-based violence, particularly violence against women and children.

He also emphasised the importance of forgiveness and patience in resolving conflicts. Praise said: “We are male champions for gender justice, and gender justice is not just justice for women. What we are out for is to ensure gender justice.”

It’s not just about the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, and Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan. We have discussed cases like Osinachi’s tragic killing by her husband.

“And so, we are fostering gender justice for men and women, but especially for women. And Akpabio and Natasha came up with our speaker who spoke from Kenya. All we are trying to see is to ensure that there is peace, especially for Christians, and we want to ensure that they don’t get caught up in conflicts.”

MEANWHILE, amid the sexual harassment allegation levelled against him by the Kogi Central Senator, Akpoti-Uduaghan, the Senate President, yesterday, showed off his romantic side when he penned a love note to his wife in a post on his Facebook post to mark her birthday. Celebrating his wife’s 54th birthday, the former governor of Akwa Ibom State professed his everlasting love for her.

“My family is blessed to have a God-fearing wife/mother like you. On behalf of myself, the children and the good people of Akwa Ibom North-West Senatorial District, I wish you a happy birthday and many happy returns.

“May God grant you many more years on earth to celebrate Him and your adorable Mother – The Blessed Virgin Mary – Mother of God, amen. Be assured of my love forever,” Akpabio wrote.
