Architects hold colloquium in Abuja
The yearly architecture forum, organized by the architects’ regulatory body, Architects Registration Council of Nigeria (ARCON), popularly known as Architects Colloquium begins next week Monday in Abuja.
This year’s edition, planned to be more robust in scope and size, according to the organizer, has “Architecture And The Nigerian Development Agenda XI” and “Architecture And Sustainable Built Environment” as its main theme and sub-theme respectively.
Set to hold between Monday 23 and Thursday 26 of April, at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre, Abuja, the forum, creates the platform for professional within and outside the building and constructor industry to interact, discuss and dialogue on architectural and built environment, and other related issues.
Architect Umar Murnai, Registrar, ARCON, said this year’s edition would cover architecture and sustainability concept, software capacity building for architects (BIM), and valued added to building finishes.
Other areas the Colloquium would also cover according to Umar, include value added to building finishes appropriate procedure for painting application, architects services and remuneration challenges and feedback.
