Armed bandits invade Kaduna community

• Kill Vigilance Group Member, Abduct Medical Doctor’s Wife, Children

No fewer than 50 heavily armed bandits, Friday night, invaded Juji community in Chikun Local Council of Kaduna State.The gunmen allegedly abducted the wife, children and security guard of a popular Kaduna medical practitioner and owner of Chris Joja Lounge, Dr. Ataga.

Eyewitness said the bandits stormed the community at about 10:30p.m., in an attempt to overpower the personnel manning the police post in the area, but could only succeed after six hours of exchange of gunfire.

The armed bandits were said to have gained access to Dr. Ataga’s residence at about 4.00a.m. The source also said a member of a vigilance group was shot dead.The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Yakubu Sabo, said he was yet to be briefed, but promised to get back, when details would be available.
