ARMTI plans seminar on traditional institutions role in agricultural and rural development

Agricultural and Rural Management Training Institute (ARMTI), Ilorin will on Thursday March 15 this year present to the public a national seminar entitled; ‘Harnessing the Potentials of Traditional Institutions for Integrated Agricultural and Rural Development in Nigeria.’

Agricultural and Rural Management Training Institute (ARMTI), Ilorin will on Thursday March 15 this year present to the public a national seminar entitled; ‘Harnessing the Potentials of Traditional Institutions for Integrated Agricultural and Rural Development in Nigeria.’

The keynote address at the event scheduled to commence at 10 am will be delivered by one of the highly revered monarchs in Kwara state, His Royal Highness, Dr Haliru Ndanusa Yahaya, CFR, Etsu Shonga. Besides, Dr Joseph Fayeye, of Sociology Department of University of Ilorin, is expected to deliver a sub theme on ‘The Ruler/Subject Relationship in Nigeria: An Overview’.

In the same vein, Professor Sheu Ralma, former Vice Chancellor Federal University of Gashua in Yobe state will speak on the topic; ‘Accelerating Susteinable Agricultural and Rural Development in Nigeria -the Traditional Institutions as a Viable Option.’ The ARMTI will present a topic on ‘Traditional Rulers as Change Agents in Agricultural and Rural Development in Nigeria :a Case Study of the ARMTI -VADI.’
