Army arrests 17 suspected cultists, robbers in Rivers

Seventeen persons allegedly involved in armed robbery and cult-related activities in various parts of Rivers State were yesterday paraded by the Nigerian Army in Port Harcourt.
The arrest of the suspects followed series of raids on criminals and cultists’ hideouts across the state where criminal activities have heightened in recent months.
The 2 Brigade, Nigerian Army, Port Harcourt spokesperson, Captain Eli Lazarus, told journalists yesterday that during the raid on the suspects’ hideout, the army was able to recover arms and ammunition.
