Army releases new list of wanted Boko Haram members
• Military moves to minimise collateral damage
The Nigerian Army yesterday released a fresh list of 55 wanted Boko Haram terrorists.
The Chief of Defense Staff, Gen. Abayomi Olonishakin, unveiled the list at the Military Command and Control Centre (MCCC) of Operation Lafiya Dole in Maiduguri.
He urged Nigerians to assist in tracking down the wanted persons.
“With this launch of additional list of wanted terrorists, it is hoped that the public will help to identify the Boko Haram suspects wherever they are. I urge everyone to assist in tracking them down,” he said.
He disclosed that the military had provided a platform through its Operation Safe Corridor for insurgents who wish to forsake their activities.
He urged people to persuade willing fighters to lay down their arms, saying the nation was ready to accept them.
