The National Association of Ogun State Students (NAOSS) has lauded the efforts of Gov. Dapo Abiodun of Ogun in giving the education sector the desired priority.

Mr Gbemileke Ogunrombi, National President of the Association, gave the commendation in Abeokuta on Friday.

Ogunrombi explained that the present administration in Ogun, since assumption of office had provided infrastructure and basic needs to schools across the state and also made the environment conducive for learning.

He noted that all government-owned tertiary institutions in the state were now having their academic activities going on smoothly without any hitch.

Ogunrombi advised the governor to keep the tempo going, saying that education in the state had started returning to its rightful position among other states.

“The governor’s aggressive push in the educational sector has begun to materialise as our students have joined the league of exceptional students across the globe.

“This became evident in this year’s edition of the Grand Finale of the NNPC National Science Quiz Competition.

“A pupil of APT Scholars Universal College, Ota, Oluwatobi Ojo, won the first prize for Ogun State with 80 points and making the state proud,’’ he said in a statement.

The NAOSS president noted that if adequate attention was given to the education sector, the students would perform exceedingly well.

He appealed to other states governments across the country to give education the required priority, saying that education would continue to be the bedrock of any nation’s development.

He urged Ogun students across the country to face their studies, shun violence and be good ambassadors of the state.
