Association plans to profile borehole drillers nationwide
Association of Water Well Drilling Rig Owners and Practitioners (AWDROP) has commenced the profile of water well drilling rig operators in the country to control drilling of boreholes, which experts have alluded to be responsible for the earth tremors being experienced in the country recently.
The exercise, according to the group, would enable it have a baseline insight of probable causes and effect of drilling activities in Nigeria so that it can advise the government as appropriate.
In a communique signed by its National President, Musa Machika, at the end of its fifth general meeting in Abuja, the group also canvassed the need for regulation and standardisation of borehole drilling and water supply activities.
