The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) chapter of Niger Delta University (NDU), Bayelsa State, has embarked on an indefinite strike, citing the government’s alleged failure to uphold agreements previously reached with the union.

The announcement followed a meeting at the union’s secretariat in Amassoma, Bayelsa State on Tuesday.

The industrial action is expected to disrupt academic activities across the university, with details of the union’s demands and the strike’s implications anticipated to emerge in the coming days.

The latest development adds to a series of similar strikes across Nigeria, as ASUU continues to advocate improved funding, better infrastructure, and the fulfilment of agreements by state and federal authorities.
