At U.S. electronics show, Panasonic targets fusing physical, digital realities
Its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer for North America, Tom Gebhardt, made this known at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States of America (U.S.A.)
He said the future vision was its main focus at the show, as it showcases how its technologies are daily making life better and offering greater customer experience.
Speaking against the backdrop of its centenary anniversary, he said Panasonic, had over the decades focused on developing products that touch human lives.
Gebhardt pointed out that for the next 100 years, the company would also concentrate on bringing physical products to the digital world by connecting world environment and airborne satellite connection to open the possibility for live video streaming on air.
“This will help make consumer experiences richer and more rewarding and provide governments and businesses efficient work flows,” he added.
He also announced the establishment of Panasonic’s new digital solution system, which will debut on April 1, 2018 to support hundreds of engineers, ranging from public safety, security, manufacturing, food retail and supply chain.
“Its focus will be the brain of physical and digital world combined through business to business (B2B) solutions,” he said.
This, according to him, would strengthen and grow system solutions business by consolidating its four existing divisions.
The company has also developed a scalable “ePowertrain,” a solution for effective development of small electric vehicles (EVs), intended to contribute to the advancement of the coming mobility society, as it foresees rapid growth in the demand for EVs globally.
“These include not only conventional passenger vehicles but also new types of EVs such as EV bikes and micro EVs, which suit various lifestyles and uses in each region,” he said.
To achieve the set vision, Panasonic has partnered with Amazon Alexa, as its Senior Vice President, Tom Taylor, said voice was the easiest way of getting things done.
“Amazon Alexa wants to be everywhere, and Panasonics partnership gives us that edge, providing online and offline services to users. Panasonic is also in partnership with Google North America,” he stated.
The Electronic Show was also a platform for the launch of Fz950 and 800 TV series”, reputed to deliver industry’s leading accuracy. It comes with high picture accuracy created for television, while most of the 2018 4k models would support HDR 10+.
