The Director of Public Prosecution (DPP), Mrs. Adeyinka Adeyemi, yesterday, called a second witness in the ongoing murder trial of the late Super TV Chief Executive Officer, Michael Usifo Ataga.

At the resumed hearing of the case, the prosecution witness, Abubakar Mohammed, told a Lagos High Court sitting in Tafewa Balewa Square (TBS),  how he  recorded the conversation he had with Chidinma after the incident.

Mohammed was the security man at the rented service apartment, where Ataga was allegedly murdered. He was   the second prosecution witness in the ongoing trial of Chidinma Ojukwu, a 300-level mass communication student of the University of Lagos, alongside her sister, Chioma Egbuchu, and one Adedapo Quadri over the alleged murder case.

Led-in-evidence by the DPP, the witness told trial judge Yetunde Adesanya that Chidinma, who had been calling him with a private number, later called him (witness) with her personal number.

In his evidence, he said that after his madam, the owner of the apartment (Nkechi Mogbo), had gone to SCID Panti, alongside the victim’s family at 6:00p.m, which was Thursday, Chidinma later  called him with her personal number.

According to Mohammed, he said that the call only lasted for 10 seconds. He said that he just said hello all for about 10 seconds, before she changed to the private number and his mind told him to record the conversation.
Justice Adesanya  has adjourned till today,  November 17, for continuation of trial.
