A Nigerian auto firm has unveiled plans to recruit 1,000 first-class graduates from Nigerian universities annually.
The initiative is coming after the firm recently employed over a hundred young first-class graduates from top Nigerian universities through its CIG Knight programme.
The Executive Director, CIG Motors, Jubril Arogundade, at its maiden induction ceremony held at its G-Style luxurious showroom, said the programme is part of a broader arrangement to engage no fewer than 1,000 Nigerian graduates in automotive technology and bridge the unemployment gap in the country.
He said, “The automotive industry, especially here in Nigeria, is on the brink of revolution, and CIG Motors is proud to be the leading change. With the disruption of technology with EVs, there is an infrastructural gap that needs innovators and creative thinkers who can contribute to moving the company forward.”
The ED further explained that the CIG Knight programme is a laser-focused opportunity that welcomes only first-class graduates and students with a 2:1 from the top ten universities in Nigeria. He said their strategic recruitment process includes aptitude tests, phases of interviews, and presentations to determine skills, intellect, and commitment to making a meaningful impact in the industry.

He disclosed that from over 1,800 applicants, about 100 candidates qualified as CIG Knights, sharing the organization’s values of excellence, character, and dedication.
Speaking during the panel session, Bisola Aiyeola, an award-winning actress, encouraged the newly inductees to be open to learning as the automobile industry is a growing goldmine.
“To grow, we must embrace lifelong learning, self-awareness, and resilience. We must be open to new experiences, challenges, and feedback. Growth is not about status, but about progress,” she added.
On her part, Mabel Adeteye, Head of Brands and Marketing Communications at WEMA Bank, a panellist commenting on the topic “Leadership and Growth: Building a Successful Career,” admonished the graduands to recognize their inherent value as individuals capable of achieving the impossible in their endeavours with an aura of resilience as they forge on in their careers.
In the same vein, Ifesinachi Okpagu, Chief Marketing Officer at Heirs Insurance, encouraged the new graduands to embody proactiveness with a forward-thinking mindset as problem solvers. “Identifying problems before they happen and presenting solutions will help position you in your team while your impact is felt even in your absence,” she added.
The inductees join the staff of CIG Motors to work closely with experienced mentors and colleagues, driving innovation and excellence across various departments such as Sales, Marketing, Human Resources/Interests, Finance, and Operations to equip them with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in their roles.
The maiden induction ceremony held at the luxurious G-Style showroom echoed applause with panel sessions, talent recognition, and certificate presentations.
