Bagudu directs LG chairmen to partner donor agencies

Kebbi State Governor, Senator Atiku Abubakar Bagudu has directed the state local government chairmen to partner donor agencies to bring more developments to the state.

Kebbi State Governor, Senator Atiku Abubakar Bagudu has directed the state local government chairmen to partner donor agencies to bring more developments to the state.

He gave the directive, yesterday, at the presentation of 30 motorcycles to Birnin Kebbi Local Government filed officers, noting that the role of European Union, Oxfam and other partners is to rescue vulnerable persons in the society.“I am ready to expand scope of the programme to encompass all the Local Government areas for the well-being of their people,” he added.

The Governor commended Birnin Kebbi Local Government for supporting the programme, of which more than 150 associations benefitted from the village saving and loan schemes. Bagudu, also proclaimed that the state government would disburse N1m loan to various associations and groups.

The chairman, Birnin Kebbi Local Government, Alhaji Muhammad Aminu Ahmed, commended the governor for approving the request to procure the motorcycles, which demonstrated his commitment to social welfare, poverty eradication and making people self-reliant.

Meanwhile, the United Kingdom has described Kebbi State as the most peaceful in Nigeria. This was disclosed by the Deputy British High Commissioner, Gill Atkinson, who was on official visit to the state. She also applauded the governor for assisting women and youth with different skills acquisition.
