Kebbi State Governor, Atiku Abubakar Bagudu has charged the National Assembly Members’ committees to be committed to the oversights visit in order to fish out irregularities in awarded contracts.

The governor, who said this yesterday when he received the House Committee members on Electoral and Political Matter’s in his office, said the visit is welcome as it would help correct election lapses adding that if other committees in both upper and lower chambers are committed to oversights visit, there would be more developmental projects in the country.

Responding, the Deputy House committee chairman on Electoral and political Matter’s in the Federal House of Representatives, Zakari Angulu commended Bagudu’s efforts in the state, urging him to continue to support the good people of the state in all areas. He however went on to express dissatisfaction over the preparedness of the INEC for the forthcoming general elections. Angulu who was addressing a press conference shortly after the inspection of INEC materials said that the items he saw in the state’s INEC office is better than many other states despite the fact that card readers are not working.

He assured that despite the challenges, they would ensure elections are conducted without any prblems, appealing to journalists to support INEC as much as possible.
