Bayelsa gov candidate, running mate dump Labour Party
The Labour Party (LP) candidate in the 2023 Bayelsa State Governorship election, Udengs Eradiri, and his running mate, Benjamin Nathus, have resigned from the party.
Eradiri announced his resignation in a letter sent to the chairman of the party in Yenegoa, the Bayelsa State capital.
Eradiri stated in the letter that he decided to leave the LP to pursue his political career with a platform that is ready to give Bayelsa the kind of leadership it needs.
He said he’s currently making wide consultations to determine the political party he would camp with.
He also revealed that his decision has the backing of his supporters and loyalists.
In his own letter, Nathus said his move was borne out of his decision to seek a platform committed to a leadership that would propel Bayelsa towards a brighter and more prosperous future.
He expressed gratitude for the support and camaraderie of the party members who shared in the vision for a thriving Bayelsa and provided him the opportunity to serve as a deputy governorship candidate.
He added that he was honoured working with dedicated colleagues and engaging deeply with communities in the pursuit of transformative governance.
Sources disclosed that the local government chairmen on the platform of LP in Bayelsa also dumped the party.
