Benjamin Justice Soghie wins humanitarian impact award

Benjamin Justice Soghie, Chairman and CEO of E.I.A Concept Limited, has been honoured as one of Yessiey Africa’s 100 Most Impactful People of 2024.

The announcement was made at the prestigious Yessiey Awards, hosted by Yessiey Magazine, which celebrates Africans making meaningful contributions to society.

Soghie was recognized for his remarkable humanitarian work through the Benjamin Justice Soghie Foundation, which has touched over 100,000 lives across Nigeria. The foundation focuses on healthcare, education, economic empowerment, elder care, and access to justice for vulnerable communities.

In his acceptance speech, Soghie described philanthropy as his life’s calling, quoting 2 Corinthians 9:12 to highlight the spiritual value of service. He dedicated the award to the resilient individuals and communities supported by his foundation, while also thanking his team, partners, and family for their unwavering support.

Over the years, the foundation has launched several long-term initiatives, including medical outreaches, scholarships, and welfare programs for the elderly and underserved populations. Soghie emphasized that philanthropy is not a destination but an ongoing journey that requires consistent and sustainable efforts.

Looking beyond humanitarian work, Soghie also used the platform to stress the importance of industrialization in Africa. He urged policymakers and private sector leaders to create innovative financing solutions and inclusive industrial policies, noting that while philanthropy reduces hardship, industrial development drives job creation and economic empowerment.

“No economy can grow without strong industries, and no society can thrive without employment,” he said.

“I accept this award as a renewed call to action—to serve more, to build more, and to inspire more. Together, we can energize Africa’s transformation.”
