Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has Wednesday announced his defection from Nigeria’s ruling party All Progressive Congress (APC) to Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Ortom said he has sent his resignation letter from All Progressive Congress, APC to his ward chairman.

He assured the readiness of the APC ward chairman to join him in the new party.

The state youths had earlier on Tuesday marched to the Government House in the early hours of Wednesday to prevent the governor from attending a meeting with the National Chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole and some other party members
