The renowned Evangelist, Reinhard Bonnke, yesterday in Lagos, explained why he picked Nigeria for his farewell crusade.Bonnke disclosed at a press briefing that he was grateful to God for the opportunity given to him to come to the country for his last crusade.

He said Nigeria was his favourite country, adding that God specifically told him to hold his last crusade in the country.Bonnke was accompanied by the Chairman, Central Working Committee, Apostle Alexander Bamgbola, CFAN’s African Director, Rev. John Darku from Ghana and his personal Assistant, Andy Colby.

The cleric expressed the hope that the crusade would be explosive, and urged Nigerians to attend the programme to embrace what God is going to do during the five-day crusade.

According to him, he left Germany 50 years ago forAfrica and ever since, he has been preaching the gospel of the kingdom and winning souls for Christ. Bamgbola said the crusade is important to the African continent, particularly Nigeria and urged the people to attend the programme, which begins from November 8 to 12, at Sparklight Estate on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway from 4:00p.m. every day.

Bamgbola told the visiting cleric that prayers had been going on for the success of the crusade. He said: “You have laboured for many years of your life, peaching the gospel of Christ all over the world, and Africa is grateful to God and to you for preaching the gospel in the power of Holy Ghost across the nations of Africa.

“This Bonnke’s farewell crusade is so important to the entire continent of Africa, particularly to us in Nigeria, and we do believe that it would touch the land of Africa forever until Christ returns.“We do believe that if there is any darkness left in the continent of Africa, you, the light of God would make darkness to vanish forever”.
