Borno police impose restriction of vehicles in Maiduguri tomorrow

Nigeria Police

The Borno State Police Command has imposed restriction of vehicles and tricycles in Maiduguri, the state capital, tomorrow until after the completion of Sallah Eid prayers in the metropolis.

The restrictions include the use of motor vehicles, tricycles, bicycles and animals, except those on essential duties.

Spokesman of the Command, Victor Isuku, who disclosed this in a statement issued to journalists in Maiduguri, yesterday, added: “This restriction, though regrettable, is necessary in view of recent security concerns.

“Muslim faithful are, therefore, advised to pray at Eid Praying Grounds close to their homes.

“The Command wishes to advise the general public to be security conscious at all times and report any strange or suspicious persons, movements or objects to the nearest Police officer or station or other security agency.”
