CNN International has appointed British born Nigerian journalist, Adefemi Akinsanya, as the host of its new multiplatform feature series, Africa Inc.

Akinsanya will be based in Lagos and lead coverage that spotlights how African companies are competing and thriving on the global stage.

Africa Inc. will showcase the continent’s business dynamism across sectors including technology, hospitality, manufacturing and entertainment. The series aims to highlight innovation, resilience and ambition driving industries and creating opportunities with international impact.

“I’m thrilled to be joining CNN to launch Africa Inc. at such an exciting time for Africa’s international story,” Akinsanya said. “Across the continent, we’re seeing innovation, resilience and ambition transforming industries and creating opportunities with global impact. I’m looking forward to bringing these stories to CNN’s audience.”

Segments from Africa Inc. started airing on August 5, with the half hour flagship programme scheduled to premiere on CNN International on August 29.

Akinsanya’s Lagos base underscores CNN’s focus on telling African business stories from within the continent, offering viewers a closer look at companies and entrepreneurs reshaping global markets.
