In pursuance of the Federal Government’s policy of boosting rice production, the BUA Rice Ltd, a subsidiary of the BUA Group, has entered into a partnership with the Rice Farmers Association of Nigeria (RIFAN), Kano State branch. The partnership would soon be firmed up with the signing of an agreement.

Group Executive Director, Strategy and Innovation of BUA Group, Kabiru Rabi’u said, “BUA remained genuinely committed to government’s resolve to reduce the nation’s dependence on imported rice by boosting local capacity to produce, process and package rice.”

According to him, the partnership would support the rice farmers to take advantage of the CBN Anchor-Borrowers Scheme, adding that, “… BUA will
provide end-to-end support to the value chain in ensuring that its milling facilities are utilised optimally. “

He assured that farmers would enjoy the partnership as the firm would do everything possible to see that their products are bought at a good price, apart from the fertiliser supply, inputs and other implements that they are being given.

The chairman of the state chapter of RIFAN, Abubakar Ali, assured the BUA Group of its dedication to any reached agreement between them and the company.
