Buhari greets Mabogunje at 90

President Muhammadu Buhari has joined the academia in celebrating with renowned geographer, Prof. Akinlawon Ladipo Mabogunje, on his 90th birthday, today, October 18, 2021.

Buhari, who extolled the scholar, administrator and consultant for the historic roles he played in structuring, growth and demography of the country, noted with commendation the contributions of the scholar in economic development of the country.

The President added that the geographer made great impacts with the publication of “Urbanisation in Nigeria” in 1968. The work, he said, had remained relevant in predicting some of the social, economic and structural challenges facing the country.
