Buhari proceeds on vacation, Osinbajo to act as president
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo will be acting as the president of Nigeria in the absence of President Muhammadu Buhari who has proceeded on a 10-day vacation starting on Monday.
Buhari, while talking to journalists at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport, Abuja on his way to London, said a letter has been sent to the leadership of the National Assembly in that regard.
During the vacation, the President will see an Ear, Nose and Throat Specialist regarding a persistent ear infection.
The sign that all may not be well with the health of the president came to public knowledge when he could not honour his official visit to Lagos state.
An online medium had announced that the president who sent the vice president, Yemi Osinbajo to represent him on his much-publicised expected visit to Lagos, was suffering from ear infection
This was later denied by the presidency, which showed a photo of the president receiving Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun, in his office.
Also, the president failed to honour his official visit to Cross River State and later the launch of clean-up of Ogoni land.
