Bola Tinubu and Kashim Shettima rubbed mind together on the way forward for the nation.

President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice-President-elect Kashim Shettima will be conferred with national honours by President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday, May 25, 2023.

The conferrment of national honours on the incoming president and vice president is part of a week-long event schedule leading to their swearing in on Monday, May 29.

Tinubu will be conferred with Grand Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (GCFR) while Shettima will be honoured with Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON).

According to events schedule by the Presidential Transition Council, the same day, May 25, there will be an official handover of Transition Documents to the incoming Administration.

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha. noted that the exercise will take place at the State House Conference Centre in Abuja.

The SGF who doubles as Chairman of the Presidential Transition Council, further disclosed at a briefing on Thursday that an Inauguration Lecture on the topic: Deepening Democracy for Integration and Development by His Excellency, Uhuru M. Kenyatta, former President of Kenya will take place on Saturday 27th May.

On May 27, 2023, there will be an Inaugural Lecture by Uhuru Kenyatta, former President of Kenya.

He was declared winner of the 2023 presidential election ahead of Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, who came second, and Peter Obi of the Labour Party who finished third.
