Building, construction exhibition holds in Lagos


Efforts at improving the nation’s construction industry for the past few years may have suffered a setback, as property developers have recently seen an increase in the cost of materials shoot up building projects prices.

Nigeria BuildExpo, an international construction and building materials exhibition, holds November 2 to 4, 2017 in Lagos. Well known companies from all over the world will come together under one roof at the event.

According to a statement, “BuildExpo offers effective trade platform for the sector. “Potentials of Nigeria are growing year by year and Build Expo gives the opportunity to take part in this growing market. BuildExpo is organised by Elan Expo, the organizer of West Africa HVACEXPO.

“It has hosted 72 attendees from 12 countries and was visited by 3200 local and international visitors. States officers, local government, sector representatives and pioneer business people visited companies in their booths and sectorial meetings were arranged during the exhibition. Both new ways for international collaboration and partnership agreements are the main object of the exhibition.


“Sharing knowledge in the key for development. That’s why Elan Expo brings all sectors together for development and sectoral workshop. Build workshop will continue during three days and sectoral issues will be added to agenda by well-known speakers.

“Speakers from Nigeria Institute of Builders (NIOB), NISTRUCTE (The Nigerian Institution of Structural Engineers), APWEN (Association of Professional Women Engineers of Nigeria, COREN (Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria), NITP (Nigeria Institute of Town Planners) Pipeline Professionals Association of Nigeria (PLAN) and the Nigeria Institute of Civil Engineers (NICE) take part in workshops.

“Sustainable structural design for civil infrastructure exploring alternative materials, post-conflict reconstruction and planning challenges and opportunities, energy saving and reduction of carbon footprint in commercial building, inclusive growth, planning, and infrastructure development in Nigeria, green building innovation for the Nigerian market, making building resilient to flooding and terror attacks, enhancing professionalism in the built environment will be the main topic of workshops. Workshops are supported by Acen and certified by Nistructe and certificate will be issued.”
