Cable theft: Man electrocuted, two others arrested in Ogun

Police in Ogun State have confirmed the electrocution of a yet-to-be-identified man in the Day Waterman axis, along the Kobape area.

The command said, yesterday, that the yet-to-be-identified man was cutting cables belonging to the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IEDC), when the incident happened.

It was gathered that a staff member of IBEDC at the Owode Egba branch reported the matter to the police.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, said the corpse of deceased has been taken to the Ogun State Teaching Hospital Sagamu for autopsy.

Two casual staff members of the Quantum Packaging Company, Igbesa, were also arrested for allegedly stealing a cable belonging to the company.

The suspects were first apprehended by the Chief Security Officer of the company, Okoi Akilepo, who was on a foot patrol at the time, before they were handed over to the police.
