Cargo train derails in Osun
A cargo train in the early hours of Saturday derailed at the popular Nelson Mandela Freedom Park, Osogbo, Osun state.
No life was lost in the incident. The detached coaches were loaded with cement, personal goods and luggage of commuters.
No officials of the Nigeria Railway Corporation were willing to comment.
When The Guardian visited the scene of the incident, security operatives, Police and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps were on ground to maintain law and order.
The State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Folasade Odoro confirmed the incident.

Thanks to God for the protection of lives in the incident. The train and coaches should be checked often to keep them safe for use.
It’s surprising that the Train Driver had to be informed of the separation in far away Ofa. Why was it difficult for him to know, I wonder..?
