CCII berates Fayose over claim of alleged plot to dethrone Olubadan

Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose

Alli rallies APC stakeholders in Oyo ahead of 2027 guber bid
The Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII) has berated former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, over his claim of an alleged plot to remove the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja.

The CCII, however, described the allegation as baseless, inflammatory and capable of undermining peace in Ibadanland.

In a statement yesterday, by its Publicity Secretary, Kola Olomide, the Council said Fayose’s comments were misleading and amounted to an attempt to drag the revered traditional institution into partisan politics.

The statement quoted the CCII President-General, Ajeniyi Ajewole, as expressing deep concern over what he termed unwarranted interference in Ibadan affairs.

Meanwhile, a governorship aspirant in Oyo State, Sharafadeen Alli, has intensified consultations across the state to consolidate support ahead of his anticipated declaration for the 2027 governorship race.

The lawmaker embarked on a series of strategic engagements across Ogbomoso and Oyo federal constituencies, meeting with key stakeholders within the All Progressives Congress (APC) to strengthen alliances and build consensus within party structures.

Alli, however, paid homage to the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade I, in the company of Akeem Adeyemi and other prominent political figures.

The visit also took him to Ogbomoso North, Ogbomoso South and Oriire local councils, where he received what party sources described as overwhelming support and endorsement by party leaders, ward executives, youth groups and grassroots stakeholders.
