CGN holds conference

ArchBishop Taiwo Akinola of Rhema Christian Church and Towers, Temidire, Sango-Ota, Ogun State, has enjoined Nigerians, especially those living in states where sharia panels do not exist, to resist the incessant call by some Muslim activists to establish and implement Sharia panels in their states.

He stated that the call for the establishment of sharia panels is a direct violation of the Nigerian constitution, which upholds religious freedom and prohibits the adoption of any state religion according to Section 10 of the 1999 Constitution.

The cleric said this at a briefing to announce the coming of the church’s yearly Christ Global Network (CGN) programme generally known as the New Wine Fire Conference.

Holding on Saturday, April 11, at the church premises with the theme ‘Show Me Your Glory’ taken from Exodus 33:18-19, the archbishop disclosed that CGN is a divinely ordained ecclesiastical body dedicated to fostering spiritual renewal, strengthening gospel ministers, and advancing the work of God’s Kingdom on earth.

He said highly powered clerics will speak and minister to the people.
