The Commissioner for Health, Dr. Nimkong Lar, stated this yesterday on the telephone.

According to him, the government is working assiduously to sensitise the people on the dangers of open defecation in the communities.

However, some residents said that they drink water from boreholes and wells, adding that most times they buy water from mobile vendors.

They called on the government to come to their aid to get potable water, so they do not contract the disease.
