Rotarian Oji Donoji Chukwuemeka, a serial entrepreneur and green-architecture advocate, has commended the promotion of Deputy Corps Commander Babatope Sunday Agbaje, FCNA, to the rank of Corps Commander in the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).

The decoration ceremony, chaired by Corps Marshal Dr. Shehu Mohammed, was attended by lawmakers and senior FRSC officials, including Hon. (Dr) Prince Olaide Lateef Mohammed, Vice Chairman, House Committee on Pension. Chukwuemeka described the promotion as a milestone in public service and national development.

Agbaje, born and raised in Ibadan, began his education at St. Williams Primary School before joining the FRSC. Over the years, he has held several high-responsibility positions, combining public administration and financial management skills as a Fellow of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (FCNA).

One of his notable achievements is leading the FRSC Housing Cooperative, where he initiated a sustainable housing programme for personnel. The scheme features a 2025–2030 Housing Growth Roadmap under the “One Mortgage, Multiple House Types” model. Partnerships, including one with Family Homes Funds, have enabled affordable financing in the 10–20 percent equity range.

The cooperative has acquired over 30 hectares of land in Gaba and Bwari and completed 44 houses in Aso B, Nasarawa. Agbaje also forged a partnership with the University of Abuja for co-developing housing estates and related school programmes, linking infrastructure with educational development.

Chukwuemeka praised these initiatives as evidence of people-centred leadership aligned with Rotary’s “Service Above Self” values. He said Agbaje’s work goes beyond building structures to creating lasting welfare solutions for personnel.

He described Agbaje’s housing projects as classic leadership that builds futures, not structures, and emphasized that Nigeria requires leaders who are committed to people-centered development without wavering.
