…Seeks ‘supernatural breakthrough’ for nation
The New Seraph Evangelical Ministries has urged Nigerians to reject vote-buying, obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), and elect leaders based on competence, character, and capacity.
It stated that the country is in need of a supernatural breakthrough.
The call was made by the Founder, Her Grace Iya Aladura General Dr. Oluwaseye Yomi-Sholoye, during a press conference to announce the eighth edition of the Night of Divine Experience (NODE 8.0).
Yomi-Sholoye said Nigeria is at a defining moment in its history, calling on citizens to combine prayer with responsible civic engagement to address the nation’s economic, social and security challenges.
Yomi-Sholoye said: “In 2026, Nigeria needs a supernatural breakthrough. As a ministry, we will not be silent. Our faith demands action.”
She acknowledged the efforts of the Federal Government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, particularly the strengthening and expansion of divisions of the Armed Forces to improve response time and national security.
According to her, such measures have the potential to reduce banditry, violent attacks and invasions of worship centres while restoring confidence and safety across communities.
While commending the government’s efforts, she stressed that nation-building requires the active participation of all Nigerians.
She urged citizens to remain law-abiding and prayerful, register for and obtain their PVCs, resist every form of inducement to sell their votes, and support candidates based on competence, character and capacity.
She also charged political aspirants to embrace issue-based campaigns anchored on accountability and service rather than empty promises.
“The season of empty promises is over. Show us your works. Be instruments of breakthrough. Use your influence to bless the nation, not just yourselves. Unite for Nigeria. Give our youths a future to believe in,” she said.
Quoting Proverbs 14:34, she added, “Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people,” while also referencing Micah’s declaration that, “The One who breaks open will go before them.”
“As a Church, we will pray, we will speak truth, and we will be the moral compass,” she said.
The three-day programme, themed “Supernatural Breakthrough,” drawn from Micah 2:12-13, is scheduled to be held from August 12 to 14, 2026, at the New Seraph Prayer City. The event, which will gather more than 500,000 worshippers, will feature Bishop STV Adegbite JP, Prophet Israel Oladele Genesis, and Evangelist Ade Tolabi, among other ministers.
