CJ harps on restorative justice

Justice Kazeem Alogba

Acting Chief Judge of Lagos State, Justice Kazeem Alogba, has commended his predecessor, Justice Opeyemi Oke, for her use of restorative justice in the resolution of disputes.

Speaking at the investiture of Justice Oke by the Institute of Criminology and Penology of Nigeria (ICPN), Alogba said restorative justice should be properly explained to the people at the grassroots.

He added that the grassroots constitute greater part of the population and being equipped with the knowledge would enable them settle their disputes amicably.

Oke, who also unveiled her ensemble, HOOP Productions, that dramatised restorative justice, noted that “this form of legal adjudication enables parties involved in disputes to settle their matter without going to court.”
