CJN cautions new CJ against abuse of power
Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Ibrahim Tanko Muhammad, has cautioned Chief Judge (CJ) of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court, Justice Salisu Garba Abdullahi, against abuse of power.
He gave the charge yesterday during Abdullahi’s official inauguration as substantive CJ.
Following the retirement of his predecessor, Justice Ishaq Usman Bello on January 5, Justice Abdullahi was appointed on an acting capacity for three months.
But the industrial action embarked upon by the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) for financial autonomy in the last two months crippled court activities nationwide and delayed the judge’s confirmation.
